Who am I?

IMG_5361Each summer I usually get into what my best friend calls “Susie mode”. (Susie homemaker) I try new recipes, bake up a storm, get my craft projects done and organize the house. As a teacher with summers off I’ve had that time to play the stay at home mom game, but now that it’s my full-time gig, it’s a whole different ball game.

After ten years of being a middle school teacher, a wife, a homemaker and a mother for the last four, I have found myself at a point where I’m not sure how to describe who I am. I’m a stay at home mom. But who is that? What does she do? How does she contribute? What is her voice?

To be honest, I’m not entirely sure of the answers to these questions. I do know that I want to embrace this time with my daughters to help them grow into people who will make a difference. But to also give them a sense of pride and accomplishment that comes from making something yourself.

So My Susie Side here I come. My goal for this blog is to share and document the cooking, crafts and creating I do on this new adventure. Using the modern day homemaker’s guide we call Pinterest, I’ll show you which crafts and recipes are the best and how to make them work for you.

Coming up this month on My Susie Side:

Pumpkin and Spice Coffee Cream

Entryway bench cover

Halloween Costumes

And Fall decorations
